1. Come In for Your Smile Consultation

During your first free consultation, Dr. Robin Lozman or Dr. Michael Lozman will sit down with you, evaluate your current smile, listen to your goals, discuss your orthodontic needs, and decide whether you’re a good candidate for Invisalign.

If you decide to begin treatment, Dr. Lozman will take a 3D scan of your teeth using the advanced iTero® digital scanning system. This system creates fast, precise images that allow us to map out an accurate treatment plan based on the exact movements, structure, and alignment of your teeth.

These scans also provide a preview of your new smile and track changes over time so you can stay excited, confident, and motivated throughout your smile transformation.

2. Wear Your Almost-Invisible Aligners

Most people won’t even notice your clear aligners—and Invisalign aligners are comfortable enough that you might not notice you’re wearing them, either.

That’s because Invisalign aligners are made from their proprietary SmartTrack® material, which is lightweight and precisely engineered to apply a constant, gentle force that gradually straightens your teeth.

Dr. Robin Lozman and Dr. Michael Lozman recommend you wear your clear aligners for at least 20 to 22 hours a day throughout your treatment. You can easily remove them to eat, drink, and practice good dental hygiene like brushing, flossing, and any other treatments your dentist or orthodontist has prescribed.

3. Marvel at Your Progress

You’ll start seeing results after just a few weeks of wearing Invisalign as your teeth gently and gradually shift into place.

Typically, the entire process takes six months or longer to complete, although some milder cases can be completed in less than six months.

During your treatment, you’ll visit our office periodically to get your tray of aligners and for Dr. Robin Lozman or Dr. Michael Lozman to check your progress. Some patients require an appointment every six to eight weeks, while other patients only need new trays every three months.

Your treatment plan will determine how often you’ll need to schedule an appointment. Lozman Orthodontics also offers virtual appointments for their Invisalign patients, which makes this treatment a great option if you’re traveling, attending college, or living far from our Latham office.

Whether you’re a local patient or on the move, you’ll be amazed at how quickly and comfortably your teeth have moved toward a straighter, more confident smile.

Braces vs. Invisalign

You may have a lot to think about when considering the differences between braces and Invisalign. It can help to take a look at the advantages and disadvantages of Invisalign clear aligners.

Advantages of Invisalign Clear Aligners

Invisalign provides many benefits to patients at Lozman Orthodontics. For example, clear aligners are:

  • Removable: With Invisalign aligners, you don’t have to restrict certain foods and drinks as you would with braces. Flossing and brushing your teeth are also much easier with clear aligners than with traditional braces.
  • Less visible: If you’re concerned about your appearance with braces, Invisalign is a discreet option that won’t interrupt your life.
  • Comfortable: Unlike braces, Invisalign clear aligners are thin and smooth, and they gradually exert a small amount of pressure on teeth.
  • Quicker: Invisalign clear aligners can provide faster results than traditional orthodontic approaches, with some patients getting their new smile in less than six months.

Disadvantages of Invisalign Clear Aligners

Invisalign clear aligners do have some drawbacks that may not make them right for everyone. For example, clear aligners are most suitable for mild to moderate orthodontic conditions, so they may not be effective for certain complex cases.

Additionally, you don’t have to think about wearing your braces up to 22 hours a day like you do with clear aligners because the brackets are attached to your teeth.

With removable clear aligners, you must be more mindful about managing your wear time, keeping your aligners clean, and swapping them out for the next ones in the series. If you’re worried about maintaining that level of discipline for six months to a year, you might opt for braces over clear aligners.
